REDMOND DAILY GOLD FAQ’s

  • Daily Gold is completely natural bentonite clay with 60+ naturally occurring trace minerals that benefit horses. Redmond’s bentonite clay was born in the depths of an active volcano. When the volcano erupted, it settled as volcanic ash into an ancient sea and weathered into bentonite clay.

  • Though there isn’t one particular reason why horses eat dirt, it is a natural activity in moderation. Horses eat small amounts of dirt daily. If they are seeking it out too often, however, they may be looking for clay. Clays contain very absorbent particles which can buffer acid and bind up toxins, certain bacteria, and other potentially harmful substances in the gut. The bound toxins are then removed from the body in the manure. Daily Gold is an effective bentonite clay horse digestive supplement that can reduce dirt eating.

  • For average horses, feed 2 ounces (4 Tbsp) of Daily Gold per horse per day. One 4.5-lb pouch of Daily Gold contains 72 ounces of product, which should last one horse 36 days on a maintenance program.

  • The broad spectrum of 60+ minerals in Daily Gold are in trace, or very small amounts. It is completely safe to feed Daily Gold with other mineral products.

  • Not only is it safe to feed Daily Gold with other Redmond products, but we recommend it! Providing your horse Daily Gold, a loose mineral salt from our Daily Red line, and a free-choice Redmond Rock will help horses achieve optimal mineral levels and health results. • Daily Gold resolves digestive problems in horses and improves gut health. It buffers acid, soothes gastric ulcers, binds feed molds and mycotoxins, helps loose stool and diarrhea, nourishes with trace minerals, and improves nutrient absorption. Many horse owners also report their horses are more relaxed yet energetic when competing; have shinier, healthier coats; achieve or maintain a healthy weight; and experience overall better health.

    • If you’re using Daily Gold powder, we recommend adding it to feed and mixing with a cup of water to increase palatability.

    • Daily Gold is safe to feed with other supplements.
If you are administering antibiotics or other pharmaceuticals to your horse, we recommend feeding Daily Gold at least three hours after.

    • Things to watch for: If you’ve used Daily Gold for seven days and your horse still has loose manure, you notice an increase in loose manure, or if at any point your horse acts lethargic and/or loses his appetite, contact your veterinarian immediately.
